2023 World Series Squares Board

Numbers & Winners

The Independent Sports Club of Central Illinois is pleased to again offer a squares board for the MLB World Series.

The squares are $50 each and you will have the same square for every game in the series. The winning squares for each game will be determined by the final box score. For each team, simply add the Runs, Hits & Errors and treat that sum as their score.
==================
For example:

AL Team has 5 runs, 8 hits and no errors. The total is 13, so the 3 matters.

NL Team has 8 runs on 10 hits and 1 error. The total is 19, so the 9 matters.

The winner of this game would be square AL 3, NL 9.

========================

There will be one winner per game, and the total pot to be paid out of $4,200 will be divided evenly by the number of games played (4, 5, 6 or 7).

Sweep = $1,050 to each winner

5-game series = $840 to each winner
6-game series = $700 to each winner
7-game series = $600 to each winner

All winners will be paid via check from the ISC approximately one week after the conclusion of the World Series.

Hit the Rules tab on this site for more details, including methods of payment.  Please make sure you have square(s) reserved on this site before paying.  Payment must be confirmed to a board member or the commissioner within four days of reserving the square or the reservation will be cancelled.

2023 Cubs vs. Cards/White Sox Squares Board

The ISC is offering a tweaked version of the squares board featuring the season-long matchup between the Cardinals & Cubs.  Since they are playing each other fewer times this year with schedule realignment, we will add the four times when the Cubs play the White Sox to this board.  10 of the 17 total games for this board will happen in an 11-day stretch at the end of July.  Strange year with the Cubs and Cardinals not scheduled to play each other in April, August or September.

Quick skinny: The “score” for each team is the sum of their runs, hits & errors after the game is over and official scoring is confirmed.  For example, if the Cubs have 5 runs on 8 hits and 1 error, then their score is 14 which means the 4 matters for the Cubs on the squares board.  Same for either the Cards or White Sox.  Each win will pay $475, up from $450 last year.

==================

All winners will be paid via check from the ISC approximately one week after the last game.  Checks will be sent via USPS mail or hand-delivered by an ISC board member.

We will post a PDF with an updated list of winners on the ISC website after the conclusion of each series.

Hit the Rules tab on this site for more details, including methods of payment.  Please make sure you have square(s) reserved on this site before paying.  Payment is must be confirmed to a board member or the commissioner within five days of reserving the square or the reservation will be cancelled.

Find the winners by clicking/tapping here.

This board is for reserving a $50 square for the 2022 MLB All-Star Game with the ISC.

The winning squares will be determined by the box score at the end of the 3rd through 8th innings and the end of the game. For each team, simply add the Runs, Hits & Errors and treat that sum as their score, with the number in the singles column determining the winning column or row on the squares board (ie. if total is 14, the 4 is what matters for that team).
